About John Clare
English poet John Clare was born on 13 July 1793 in Helpstone, Northamptonshire. His youthful fascination with poetry was inspired by the works of James Thomsons. His most famous works are the poetry volumes “Poems Descriptive of Rural Life and Scenery” (1820) and “Village Minstrel and other Poems”. (1821).
He died at the age of 71 in 1864.
